Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He combines soul gospel jazz with R&B in a distinct mix. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe. She has also performed at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta currently, she is from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she began her career as a musician, playing and singing at the church in town. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta while attending Spellman College. She was the main pianist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as the Choral Director for Dreamgirls the stage show of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for 4 performances a day during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to perform as part of the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
